Benefits of relisting on Whatnot
Before we dive in, here’s a small refresher on what relisting is.
Relisting essentially refers to the process of deleting your old listing and replacing it with an identical (or updated) fresh listing.
Think of it as taking an item from the back of your shelf, dusting it off, and putting it at the front where it’s visible to everyone.
When you relist your products that have been unsold and forgotten for a while, you give them a better chance of getting sold this time around.
Here are the main benefits of relisting on Whatnot:
Online marketplaces bank on people putting up new listings every day. Their algorithm encourages this by giving more visibility to newer listings. So, when you recreate your old listings, you bring them to the front and boost their visibility in search results.
Whatnot lets buyers set up saved searches for particular items or even brands, such as “shoes,” or “Prada.” When you relist an item, say a scarf, any buyer who has set up a saved search for scarves will get a notification about your listing.
Buyers who love your shop may check out your profile frequently for new listings. When you relist, you give new fans a chance to check out and buy your previously unsold products.
In short, relisting on Whatnot gives your unsold products a second lease on life.
With more eyes on them, your stale listings have a better chance of being sold, which means more sales for you.
What is cloning on Whatnot? Is it the same as relisting?
Cloning on Whatnot lets you duplicate any unsold listings from your previous live auctions.
You’ll essentially be carrying over your unsold listings to your upcoming livestreams without having to create the entire listing from scratch again.
Let’s say you had a live selling show on a Wednesday where you listed 10 items. Only 5 of those were sold, so you were planning on listing the rest on your next show on Saturday.
Cloning lets you just copy-paste these listings to your future shows.
Keep in mind, though, that you can only clone items to upcoming shows that have already been scheduled by you.
When should you relist on Whatnot?
The general rule of thumb when it comes to relisting is to wait till your listings become stale. We recommend waiting for at least 60 days from the original post date.
If the product still hasn’t sold by then, feel free to relist on Whatnot!
Apart from that, it’s a good idea to relist if:
You notice the number of views and clicks on the listing drop to zero
You have multiple variants of the product listed, but a few of the variants haven’t had any luck in terms of sales
You want to update the listing — either because you’ve made changes to the product, or just because you feel it could do with a makeover
You’re selling seasonal items and the peak season is rolling around
When it comes to cloning your Whatnot listings, you can do it whenever you have unsold items from old auctions.
You don’t have to follow a waiting period since buyers won’t be able to view and purchase items shown in live videos once they’ve ended.
How often should you relist on Whatnot?
We recommend not relisting your Whatnot listings more than once every 60 days. Relisting too frequently can annoy buyers and might hurt your credibility.
It also just isn't good practice for your online selling business.
Think about it. If your buyers keep seeing the same listings again and again, they’re going to lose interest very quickly.
So, even when you post fresh listings, you won’t have many takers because they’ll just assume it’s an old listing.
On the other hand, we also recommend that you don’t leave your listings unrefreshed for too long. If you do that, you might be leaving potential money on the table.
The best way to go about it is to have a system to track stale listings and refresh them.
There are no such restrictions for cloning on Whatnot. However, don’t always keep carrying over your unsold listings to the next show.
Leave a week or two in between and then try to sell them again. This way, even if a particular buyer attends a few shows in a row, they’ll be met with new products each time!
Autodelist: what happens when an item sells?
One thing many relisting guides don’t talk about is what happens after an item sells on Whatnot.
If you’re selling the same item across multiple marketplaces, a sale on one platform does not automatically remove it from the others.
Until you manually delist the item everywhere else, it can still be purchased by another buyer, without you noticing.
If it happens, you've double-sold. You’re forced to cancel an order, issue a refund, and potentially deal with negative feedback or marketplace penalties.
The more platforms you sell on, the easier it becomes to lose track of inventory manually.
This is why autodelist exists. Cross listing tools like Crosslist can detect when an item sells on any connected marketplace and automatically remove the listing from every other platform.
That means less manual checking, fewer mistakes, and a much lower risk of double-selling.
Note: for some marketplaces, this requires your desktop app or browser extension to be running in the background.
These solve two different problems: relisting refreshes stale inventory to boost visibility, and autodelist protects sold inventory from double-selling.
If you're selling on more than one marketplace, you need both.
How to relist on Whatnot in bulk (with Crosslist)
If you’re wondering, “talking about relisting is great and all, but how can I possibly delist and relist multiple listings, periodically, till the end of time?” you’re not alone.
Refreshing one listing or two manually sounds easy. It’s doable, and won’t make you feel like you’re in a nightmare.
But, imagine doing it for batches of listings every single time. Practically impossible. It’ll make you wish you could give all of this up and move to a remote island.
Not only will you be wasting your time and energy, you’re also more likely to make errors that can lead to some unpleasant situations later on.
This is where cross listing tools like Crosslist come in, the best Whatnot relist tool for managing your inventory. By automating the batch relisting process, it will make your life easier.
Relisting manually | Relisting with a tool like Crosslist |
Very time-consuming; might take hours | Quick and easy; gets it done within minutes, freeing up your time to take care of your business |
Wastes energy and brain juice | Only needs the click of a few buttons |
Very likely to cause errors | No errors |
One thing to know before you start: you have to delist an existing listing, meaning delete it, before you can relist it.
Delist before you've copied your listing details over and you've got a real headache on your hands.
With Crosslist you don't have to worry about any of this, because the tool automatically delists your listings before relisting them, all within a few minutes.
Here's how relisting on Whatnot works with Crosslist.
Step 1: Import your existing Whatnot inventory to Crosslist
This step is exclusively for those who don’t have a Crosslist subscription yet, or haven’t imported their Whatnot inventory to Crosslist. If that’s not you, you can skip ahead to step 2.
The rest of you will have to first sign up for Crosslist and log in. Now, on to importing.
You’ll see an Import button on the top left corner of your dashboard.

Click on the button, and you’ll be met with a pop-up listing all of the 11 marketplaces that Crosslist supports.
Since we’re going to be relisting your Whatnot listings, choose Whatnot.

A yellow sync button will immediately appear on your screen to indicate that your existing static Whatnot listings are being synced by Crosslist.
Give it a few minutes to do its job — especially if you have a large inventory.
Once the sync process is over, your listings are ready to be brought into Crosslist. There are two different ways for you to do this:
Importing your full Whatnot inventory at once (no matter how many listings you have)
Importing only specific listings by searching for and selecting them (in batches of 100)
If you have a lot of listings and are planning to relist all of them at some point, we recommend the first option.
This way, you won’t have to repeat this step ever again, even if you’re only going to relist a few items right now.
It’s also the easiest option for you if you’re going to be cross posting your listings to other platforms as well.
📝 Whether you have 25 listings, or 250, Crosslist will import all of them at once!
On the flipside, if there are a few Whatnot listings that you plan to delete forever, you can use the second option.
Maybe you’re no longer selling certain items, or are waiting for new stocks to come in.
In this case, you can use Crosslist’s advanced search bar to search for and select only the listings you want to import right now.
To make sure that you don’t accidentally import the same listing(s) twice, toggle the Only show listings not yet imported button on your Crosslist dashboard.
Once your selection is over, click on the Import button and wait for Crosslist to bring all of your listings in.
Step 2: Navigate to the listing overview on Crosslist
Aka your dashboard, except, this time, it’ll be populated with all of your imported listings from Whatnot.
Here, you’ll find all the information you need about your listings at a glance. This includes:
Title
Preview image
SKU (if available)
Date created
Where the listing originated from (whether it was created on Crosslist or elsewhere)
All the marketplaces it has been listed on
Any labels you’ve added to the listings

Now, to relist on Whatnot, you’re going to want to see only the listings that are listed on that platform.
If you just imported your listings from Whatnot, use the Origin tab to select the listings that originated from Whatnot.
If you were already using Crosslist, filter the Listed on section to only show those listings that are live on Whatnot.
💡 If you want to update your listings, now is your chance! Maybe you want to change the product prices to better reflect the current market, or you want to edit the images with our AI photo editor to make them look better.
No matter what type of change you want to make, click the listing you want to edit, and make the edits!
Expert tips:
Running a promotion when relisting? You can edit the prices of all of your listings in bulk with Crosslist’s price markup feature. Head to Account Settings → Price Markup and enter a number or percentage near Whatnot. To mark down the prices, enter a negative number.
If you want to make similar edits to a large number of listings, you can create templates and apply it to your listings at once. Check out this guide on editing listings in bulk with Crosslist.
If you're adjusting prices, it's worth knowing exactly what you'll net, so check the current Whatnot seller fees before you set them.
Step 3: Select the listings you want to relist on Whatnot
From your listing overview, select all the listings you want to refresh.
If you’re planning on relisting your entire inventory at once, just select all by checking the box at the top of the listings.
Before you ask — yes, Crosslist can delist and relist your entire inventory in bulk. Think of all the time you’ll be saving!

Once your preferred listings have been selected, click on the Bulk post (x) listings button at the top right corner of the dashboard.
You’ll again see a pop-up with all the marketplaces that Crosslist supports. Since the relisting is going to be done on Whatnot, select Whatnot from the box.
Step 4: Click the “Relist” button
Now, for the final step. On the same pop-up, you’ll see a button at the bottom called Relist. Click that, and your work is done!

Crosslist will now automatically delete all of your existing Whatnot listings, and replace them with fresher versions of the same.
The refreshed listings will automatically be posted on Whatnot. No more manual checking or submission needed from your side.
You also don’t have to worry about your device slowing down, or your account becoming vulnerable to rate limits.
Crosslist takes care of that by using a queuing system that distributes the listings in periodic intervals.
Relisting a single listing on Whatnot
While the above method is great for relisting in bulk or separately, there’s an easier way for when you want to edit and relist a single listing.
Search for and select the specific listing from the listing overview by clicking on it. This will open the listing with all of its details.
In addition to the listing details, the left side of the screen will have a list of all the marketplaces that Crosslist supports. Make any changes you want to the listing, such as tweaking the description, adding video listings, or including more tags..
Now, select Whatnot from the list of marketplaces on the left side since that’s where you’re going to relist it.
Click the Relist button at the bottom right corner of the screen. That’s it!

How to clone items on Whatnot
Cloning your unsold listings can be done directly on Whatnot. Before you do this, though, you should have already scheduled the show(s) you want to clone these listings to.
First, head over to the previous live show you conducted that has the unsold listings you would like to clone.
Click the Clone Items box if you’re doing this on your mobile through the Whatnot app. If you’re on the browser, select the View and clone items from this show button.
You’ll see a new page with a dropdown of your shows. Click on the upcoming show you would like to send these listings to.
Now, select all the listings you want to clone.
Once done, click the Clone button. Your unsold listings will now appear in the future show you selected!
Want to add a static marketplace listing to an upcoming live show? Go to the specific listing, select Options, and choose Assign to a live show.
Whatnot includes a built-in relist feature for auctions. If an auction ends without bids or is cancelled, you can use the Relist Auction button to repost it with updated details.
You can find the full steps in Whatnot's help center. For static listings, and for refreshing your whole inventory at once, a tool like Crosslist is the faster route.
Whatnot relisting tool: why Crosslist?
Crosslist is more than a Whatnot relisting tool. It handles the repetitive work of relisting in bulk so you can focus on sourcing and selling, and it does a lot more once you're set up.
Fill out one dynamic form and post to every major marketplace at once. No separate form per platform, the way most cross listing apps still make you do it.
Relist, edit, and manage your inventory straight from your phone with the mobile app. Source items in the morning, relist them on the bus, check your sales over coffee.
When an item sells on any connected marketplace, Crosslist detects the sale and removes the listing everywhere else with autodelist. No double-selling, no cancelled orders, no refunds you didn't see coming.
Not good at writing listings?
Don't worry! Just upload your photos and Crosslist generates complete listings with AI, including titles, descriptions, condition, and competitive pricing.
The AI photo editor cleans up images and removes backgrounds in bulk, with unlimited removals on every plan.
And because Crosslist supports the US, UK, Canada, and Australia, you can expand into regional marketplace variants most competitors can't reliably handle.
Here's what sellers say:
“This is a game changer. Keeps all inventory in one place, easy to delist and relist. Not just for huge resellers, it has saved me so much time and increased my sales. It pays for itself many times over.”
