Relist on Depop

Maybe your Depop listings aren't getting any attention, or your sales are looking flat. Or, maybe that one product just hasn't been selling, no matter how many times you promote it on social media.

Either way, you need more sales, and your Depop listings need a boost. The easiest way to do this without using paid ads is by relisting your listings on Depop. It’s quick, easy, free, and gives great results.

Here’s an in-depth look into the benefits of relisting and a step-by-step guide on how to relist on Depop (both manually and through a Depop relisting tool like Crosslist).

Key takeaways

  • Relisting on Depop replaces stale listings with fresh ones, boosting visibility in search results, Explore pages, and saved search notifications.

  • Wait at least 45–60 days before relisting to avoid being flagged for spamming.

  • Good news: unlike Etsy or eBay, Depop doesn’t charge any listing fees, so relisting is completely free.

  • With Crosslist, you can bulk relist your entire Depop inventory in minutes. The tool handles delisting automatically before reposting.

  • Crosslist also offers autodelist: when an item sells on any connected marketplace, it's automatically removed from Depop and every other platform to prevent double-selling.

What is Depop relisting?

A Depop relist refers to the process of deleting your old, stagnant Depop listings and replacing them with new (often updated) versions of the same listing. You’re essentially taking your listing, updating it, and putting it back again — with a new “original post date” this time.

Think of it this way. If you run a physical store, your newest inventory will go at the front of your shelves. But, this means that after a point of time, your old stock starts becoming stale — because it’s at the back of the shelf and isn’t visible to anyone.

In this case, you might rearrange your shelves by giving your old inventory a good polish or dusting off and placing it at the front. This is what a Depop relisting is: putting your old listings at the forefront of your profile so that they don’t go unsold.

You can do a Depop relist either manually or with a Depop relisting tool like Crosslist. But more on that below.

Benefits of relisting on Depop

Depop relisting is a low-effort, strategic marketing initiative designed to boost your Depop sales. This is because the Depop algorithm prioritizes newer listings over older ones. And a Depop relist is considered a new listing, which means you get to reap the benefits of having more visibility on your listings.

Here are the benefits of relisting on Depop:

  • SEO boost: New Depop listings tend to rank higher among search results, giving you a free SEO boost. So, when someone searches for products in your niche, your relisted product will show up towards the top, increasing its chances of getting clicked on.

  • More visibility: New (and relisted) listings tend to appear first on people’s Explore pages. Your followers and any users who have set up “Saved Searches” for products in your category will also get a notification when you post a new listing.

  • Inventory refresh: Relisting gives you a chance to update your product details wherever necessary. A fresh inventory also signals to users that your profile is active. Moreover, relisting deletes the engagement history (i.e. likes and views) of your original listings, giving it a fresh start. Why does this matter? Because, listings with poor statistics get overlooked in favor of those with better engagement counts.

  • More sales: Relisting on Depop gives your stale listings a new lease on life and increases their visibility, which translates to more sales.

When should you relist on Depop?

The general rule of thumb is to let at least 45-60 days pass from the original listing date before you do a Depop relist. In other words: give some time for your listings to actually become stagnant before you relist them.

Apart from this, you can (and should) relist on Depop if:

  • You notice that your listings have poor engagement statistics (i.e. likes, views, etc.)

  • Certain products have remained unsold for months

  • You want to make significant changes to the product listing details — either because you upgraded your product or simply because you want to polish it with better photos, tags, or descriptions

  • You have multiple variants of the product listed, but a few of those variants haven’t gotten any sales

  • You’re selling seasonal items and want to give your listings a boost as the peak season rolls around

How often should you relist Depop items?

While relisting your stagnant listings after 2 months is an effective strategy, you must also be careful not to do it too often. Relisting the same items too frequently can get your account flagged for suspicious activity or spamming, resulting in a warning, suspension, or even termination.

It’s also not a good business idea to keep relisting on Depop too often, because it sends the message that you don’t have any new items to sell. Imagine a user logs in to Depop to see that you’ve relisted the same product every single week. If they aren’t interested in the product, the lack of any other new listings from you will put them off from ever checking out your profile.

So, the best option is to do a Depop relist every 2 months. Give your items the chance to gather some engagement first. If the products do very well, you can even put off relisting them for longer!

Autodelist: what happens when an item sells?

One thing many relisting guides don’t talk about is what happens after an item sells on Depop.

If you’re selling the same item across multiple marketplaces, a sale on one platform does not automatically remove it from the others. Until you manually delist the item everywhere else, it can still be purchased by another buyer, without you noticing.

If it happens, you've double-sold. You’re forced to cancel an order, issue a refund, and potentially deal with negative feedback or marketplace penalties. The more platforms you sell on, the easier it becomes to lose track of inventory manually.

This is why autodelist exists. Cross listing tools like Crosslist can detect when an item sells on any connected marketplace and automatically remove the listing from every other platform. That means less manual checking, fewer mistakes, and a much lower risk of double-selling.

Note: for some marketplaces, this requires your desktop app or browser extension to be running in the background.

It's worth understanding the difference: relisting is about refreshing stale inventory to boost visibility. Autodelist is about protecting your sold inventory from double-selling.

If you're selling on more than one marketplace, you need both.

How to relist on Depop manually

Follow this brief step-by-step guide to do a manual Depop relist.

Step 1: Go to Depop and navigate to the listing you want to refresh.

Step 2: The second step is to copy all the existing listing details so that you can transfer them over to the new listing. While other platforms make you do this manually (i.e. copy-pasting the details into a separate document), Depop makes it easy through its “copy listing” feature. Just click on that button to create a new draft of the listing with all the details attached. Save the draft.

Step 3: Delete the original listing. Don’t skip this step as Depop doesn’t like duplicate listings, and may penalize you for having one.

Step 4: Head over to the draft you just created on Step 2. Make the necessary edits (if any) to the draft listing.

Step 5: Post the listing.

While this manual Depop relisting process is fine for a single listing or two, it isn’t feasible for batch relisting. Or for when you have a large inventory.

And if you’re serious about growing on Depop, you need to have a relisting strategy in place: one that involves you relisting in bulk without spending too much time on it.

Think about it. If you have an inventory of 300 items, you’re probably going to want to relist at least 10 items each week. Suppose relisting each item manually takes about 10 minutes, you’ll lose a total of 100 minutes every week to the Depop relisting process alone. This is time that you won’t be spending on actually growing your business. It’s not really practical.

This is where a Depop relisting tool like Crosslist comes in. It automates the whole relisting process for you, helping you bulk relist on Depop within minutes instead of hours.

Here’s a quick comparison on how the two types of Depop relisting processes compare:

Relisting on Depop manually

Using a Depop relisting tool like Crosslist

Very time-consuming; will take up hours of your time each week

Quick and easy; lets you bulk relist within minutes

Wastes a lot of energy that could be better spent on your Depop growth strategy

Only take the click of a few buttons, so it isn’t energy-intensive

Highly prone to errors

Error-free since the process is automated

Bottom line: Using a product relister for Depop like Crosslist is your best bet to speed up the relisting process and get more sales.

Here’s how the process works.

Use a product relister for Depop like Crosslist

This simple 4-step process will show you how using a Depop relisting tool like Crosslist makes it easy to relist on Depop in bulk. The entire process will only take a few minutes.

Before we dive into the first step, though, you need to sign up for a Crosslist subscription (unless you have one already). All of our pricing plans are super affordable. We also offer a 3-day money-back guarantee (as long as you relist only 20 or fewer items), so you can try this product relister for Depop risk-free.

Step 1: Import your existing inventory to Crosslist

Okay, first things first. For Crosslist to relist your Depop listings, said listings need to be stored within the tool first, which means importing your Depop inventory. If you’ve already been using Crosslist and have your Depop inventory inside the tool already, feel free to skip this step and go right ahead to step 2.

For the rest of you, we’ll show you the ropes. Log in to Crosslist and head over to the dashboard. See the Import button at the top left corner of the screen? Click on it.

Import button

A pop up with all the marketplaces supported by Crosslist will appear on the screen.

Since we’re going to import your existing Depop listings, select Depop from the list.

Marketplace pop-up

A yellow sync button will show up on the list to indicate that your Depop inventory is being synced. Give our tool a few minutes to finish this process — especially if you have a large inventory.

Once your listings have been synced, you’ll see a list of all of your Depop listings. They are now ready to be imported to Crosslist. All you have to do is pick the listings you want to bring in.

You can import your listing in one of two ways:

1. Import your entire Depop inventory to Crosslist in one go, regardless of the number of listings you have

This option is ideal for sellers who have a large volume of active Depop listings and are planning to relist them all at some point. This way, even if you only relist a few items now, you won’t have to repeat step 1 every time you want to relist on Depop in the future. The listings will already be on Crosslist, significantly cutting down your time.

Choosing to bring all of your listings in now also makes it easier if you ever plan on cross posting your Depop listings to other marketplaces from Crosslist.

And before you ask, Crosslist will import your full inventory in one ago — whether you have 20 listings or 250.

2. Importing your listings in batches (with each batch supporting a maximum of 100 listings)

You should choose this option if there are certain items that you no longer sell. Maybe you discontinued a particular type of product, or maybe you’re waiting on inventory that might take months before you can (re)list certain products. In such cases, you can omit these listings and import the rest alone.

Crosslist’s advanced search bar lets you search for and select the specific listings you want brought in. To prevent yourself from accidentally importing the same listings twice, toggle the Only show listings not yet imported button.

Once you’ve selected all the listings you want to import, click on the Import button and let our product relister for Depop work its magic and bring them all in.

Step 2: Navigate to the listing overview on Crosslist

The listing overview is just another word for your dashboard… except, now, it will also show all of your imported Depop listings at a glance.

You’ll see the following information about your listings on this page:

  • Listing title

  • Preview image

  • SKU number (if available)

  • Original date on which the listing was created

  • Origin of the listing (since you imported them from Depop, the origin here will be Depop. If you create a listing directly on Crosslist, the origin will be Crosslist)

  • All the marketplaces your listings have been listed on

  • Any labels you’ve added to help filter your listings

Dashboard

Since the focus here is to relist your Depop listings, you need to tweak the dashboard to only show those listings.

If you just signed up to Crosslist and imported your existing Depop listings, this is a non-issue as the dashboard will only show those listings. For everyone else: use the Listed on tab to show only those listings that have been listed on Depop.

Alternatively, you can also use the Origin tab to only show the listings that originated on Depop. However, this will only work if you just imported your Depop listings.

💡 Instead of just relisting on Depop, make your listings more attractive by editing/ updating them. You can change the title, product description, prices, tags, and even the product photos. In addition to making the listings look newer and fresher, you’ll also get an SEO boost.

While you can edit each listing manually, there are simpler ways to update all of them in bulk with Crosslist.

1. To edit the prices of all of your Depop listings in bulk, use Crosslist’s price mark-up feature. Go to Account settings → Price markup and enter a number or percentage in the box next to Depop. If you enter $5, the prices for all of your listings will increase by $5. If you enter 5%, all your listing prices will increase by 5%. To mark down your products, use negative values.

2. To apply similar edits to a large number of listings, create a template with the edit and apply it to all of your listings.

Step 3: Select the listings you want to relist

From the dashboard, select all the Depop listings you want to relist. If your plan is to relist everything, simply select all by checking the box at the very top.

It’s worth noting that relisting on Depop is technically a two-step process: delisting (or deleting) and relisting. But, when you relist using a Depop relisting tool like Crosslist, the first half of the equation automatically gets taken care of.

Crosslist also delists and relists your Depop listings in bulk — all within minutes.

Dashboard listings selection

Once you’ve selected the listings, click on the Bulk post (x) listings button at the top right corner of the screen.

You’ll see the same pop-up with the marketplaces supported by Crosslist. Since this is a Depop relist, select Depop.

Step 4: Click the “Relist” button

You’ll see a Relist button at the bottom of the same pop-up. Click on it, and voila! You’re done!

Relist button

Crosslist will now, automatically, delist and relist your Depop listings. No more manual intervention needed from your side.

You also don’t have to worry about your account being flagged for crossing rate limits. Crosslist takes care of that by using a queuing system to distribute listings at periodic intervals. Our product relister for Depop also doesn’t turn your computer sluggish, so you can continue using it while relisting.

Relisting a single listing using a product relister for Depop

Technically, you can use the above method even if you only want to relist a single Depop listing. But, there’s also another way.

  1. Go to the listing overview and select the Depop listing you want to refresh.

  2. Click on the listing. This will open up the listing details page. Take this chance to make changes to the listing, if any.

  3. From the left side of the screen, select the marketplace you want to relist it to (in this case, Depop).

  4. Click the Relist button at the bottom of the screen. That’s it!

While relisting your stagnant listings after 2 months is an effective strategy, you must also be careful not to do it too often. Relisting the same items too frequently can get your account flagged for suspicious activity or spamming, resulting in a warning, suspension, or even termination.

That’s it!

That’s it!

That’s it!
